چکیده

A broad comparative study of insect respiratory morphology is presented. Tracheae, epidermal invaginations extending into the body in branching networks tubes, supply tissues with direct access to air for gas exchange. While previous tracheal studies focused on a handful taxa and lacked consistency, here unified system nomenclature established using visualizations from micro-CT scanning representatives apterygotes, Paleoptera, Polyneoptera, totaling 29 species, genera, 26 families 13 orders. Three-dimensional named branches establish robust assessments homology provide framework further across class Insecta. Patterns architecture are presented along discussion future investigations phylogenetic physiological questions.
